This read I was excited for, with reviews making comparisons to Breaking Bad. About a mechanic who’s trying to keep on the straight and narrow, a financial and family crisis pushes Beauregard back into the world of crime.
Whilst nothing will beat BB, this book was a great easy-read, in which I flew through the second half as things got into motion. Full of action, fast paced a punchy, its a classic thriller. However, can’t help but feel the ending was slightly rushed and a little hurried, with the last few paragraphs in particular fairly brief. I can only assume there’s a second book otherwise it’s a fairly strange and bleak final few paragraphs. Not enough to change from a solid 4⭐️ review though.
