The Downstairs Girl
by Stacey Lee
A very enjoyable, easy read. This book brought to light racist culture outside of the black and white dynamic and revealed the sad and complex nature of fear and hatred. Although I would recommend this book, as it was a nice change from some of the darker books I have read, it was a bit overly optimistic.
This was a book with mystery, romance, adventure, strife, self realization, determination, and hope. It was a book I didn’t want to put down and one I ended with new insights.
