Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

5.0

Turns out Dostoevsky is good. Who'da thunk it?
I'm not sure what else I can add to the discussion on this book other than the structure of this book struck me as genius.
As Raskolnikov descends into madness, paranoia, monomania wrestles with his spiralling guilt, the book gets messier, more chaotic and less cohesive.
Raskolnikov is an infuriating character but there is so much psychological depth to this. I finally read the blueprint for all psychological crime thrillers.
The scene where Porfiry finally confronts him and slowly lures him into a false sense of security is fucking riveting!
