Charm City: A Valentine's Day Novel by Monica McCallan

2.0

I wanted to like this more than I did, but honestly, it felt too short! It was set over the span of Valentine's Day week where a cranky bartender and broke event planner have to work together to make the celebrations go off without a hitch. It's very much a lesbian enemies to lovers romance but I didn't feel them falling for each other. I missed the subtleties that Carson was softening up and enjoying Taylor's presence more. I missed that Taylor was seeing Carson as more than a hard exterior. It was just suddenly...enemies, sex, lovers with no real showing of their hatred of each other softening. I think if flushed out it could be a lot better than it is, and I have no hate for the book... it just wasn't "it" for me.
