All for Nothing by Walter Kempowski
5.0
This is a brutal, yet unsentimental portrait of Germany at the end of WWII. The unemotional approach somehow highlights how insignificant we all are during major crises. I am so glad I was given this book for Christmas, it had completely flown under my radar.
