Fate of the Fallen by Kel Kade
3.0

This is very likely going to be the last book I read in this year, and in this decade! That’s such a strange thing to think about. Time moves so fast, it’s hard to keep up sometimes…

This was a pretty good book. It’s the first in a series, and it ended on a nice little cliffhanger, so I’m excited to continue the story. I typically wait until there are at least two or three books published before starting a series, because I tend to enjoy binging these kinds of stories more than waiting years for the next one.

Aaslo is the unintentional protagonist of this story, and he has been tasked with saving the world against an impending attack by the gods after the initial battle plans went horribly, horribly wrong. He and a little gang of misfits that gather around him along the way work together to figure out how they just might achieve the impossible.

We don’t get a whole lot of resolution in this first book, but it was entertaining enough that I’ll certainly pick up the next one when it comes out. Also, there’s magic galore in this story, and who doesn’t love magic?
