The book about Rourke and Mercy is very different from her boys of Tommen series. However loving the start of that series made this book an easy choice for me to pick up at my local library. Rourke and Mercy are an unlikely hate to love story. Step sibling who ultimately face the complex issue of how to balance their feelings for each and keeping things from their parents until the timing right. Add to that Rourke and Mercy have trouble individually with their own biological parent. Mercy finds her mom childish for lack of a better description. Rourke issues with his dad relate to losing his mom at three years old. I highly recommend this to reader who both have and have not read the Boys of Tommen series.
