How Do You Live? by Genzaburō Yoshino
5.0

Studio Ghibli's "The Boy and the Heron" got me interested in this book, and I am glad it did. The title "How Do You Live?" is fitting, and you'll understand why when you read the book.
I expected the book to relate somewhat to the Ghibli movie, but it did not. I learned later that the book was Hayao Miyazaki's favorite book and an "inspiration" for the film. This book lets us observe Junichi, a.k.a Copper's life while he learns about himself and the world, experiences new things, and much more. I believe "How Do You Live" can help us adults take a better look at our lives and learn to live a little better. For the younger generation, the book may provide some ideas about how they should live.
