Better than the first installment, in my opinion. It was easier to follow and seemed less rushed, but it still felt somewhat...out of place, idk. I feel like the worlds and their war were trying to have an epic feel, akin to LOTR, but there just wasn't enough development or investment to really make it work.
Still an enjoyable read, with more depth than the first book.
