I’ve never cried from a book before but this one had me tearing up.

Charlotte McConaghy knows how to just pull a variety of emotions from me. “Once There Were Wolves” is another example of her ability to write complex and imperfect characters with such depth. I love her inclusion of environmentalism in her books and the connection between humans and animals and how their similarities and differences affect how the world is navigated. Exploring the dynamics of PTSD, grief, relationships, and the faults of human nature this one sure packs a punch. Each character wonderfully crafted with such complexity I could read stories about each one of them and their lives before and after this book. “Migrations” and “Once There Were Wolves” both similar yet vastly different I only wish Charlotte McConaghy put out a book every week haha.
