I feel conflicted about this book. The highs were genuinely high, but the lows dragged it down. I initially hated the excessive analogies, but they grew on me and eventually added depth. Some meaning felt lost in translation from the original French. The characters were raw and real, but their actions were confusing and unpredictable. The plot felt both clear and messy, with odd jumps that I can only assume are time skips. I'd reread it for the figurative language alone. It's broad enough to mean different things at different times. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this read overall.
