This is beautifully written, truly impressive in an almost lyrical way BUT it is unbelievably almost unbearably sad and tragic. Many many trigger warnings,

racism, rape, incest, abortion, suicide, murders, attempted murder.

Make sure you are in the right headspace to take on this story based on the author’s mother’s life.
