The book started quite slow, and I found much of the writing to be immature (regardless the age of the current narrator). The pace picks up with the twist, which was certainly unexpected, but it ended quite flatly for me. I couldn’t quite buy into the connections between the characters. Side note: I found the audiobook quite pleasant to listen to, having the different voices enhanced the story for me.
Moderate: Alcoholism, Drug abuse, Drug use
Minor: Child death
