For those who dislike history books, this novel is a great way to introduce Black American studies. Using a well thought out character (Cora)and the magic of fiction, Whitehead takes us on a ride through the antebellum era of slavery to the present day. I absolutely loved this book and it forced me to do a little research each time Cora left that train to learn what actually occured during our American past.
