The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair: From the Master of the Plot Twist by Joël Dicker

1.0

Can we normalize not normalizing pedophilia, please? Astoundingly weird choice.

Oh, but she loved him and he loved her! You know, because he's said so many, many times. Emphatically. Nobody has ever felt love like they felt it!
My god, man, she was 15. Get it together.

There's a general and pervasive disdain for the women in this story, but the two main male characters are rich, famous, elegant and "wise". The homo-erotic vibes between those two were the only mildly believable emotions in the book.

Add to that a thousand unnecessary plot twists, not a single likeable character, terrible writing and the fact that nobody in this book talks or acts like an actual alive human person.

I'm tired.
