Atlee Pine's twin sister was taken when they were 6 years old and she was spared. Now, Atlee is the lone agent to Shattered Rock, AZ. One of the Grand Canyon's mules is found at the bottom of the canyon stabbed to death. As she's putting together all the clues, she very abruptly pulled off the case. Taking a chance, she continues the investigation on her own to try to find the answers and maybe save the democracy.
This is a very interesting book. It has a lot of plot twists and surprises. It made me want to keep reading and was hard to put down. This describes a lot of what the Grand Canyon is supposedly like below the surface of where most tourists go. What she discovers will surprise you. This is definitely a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ book.
