I'm not sure I like the approach; Wilson leans heavily on commonalities between different belief systems to establish his ideal religion and his spiritual revolution, but doesn't necessarily talk a lot about why some of these commonalities exist or why we should keep them around. Altogether it felt like he did a lot of research, thought a lot about what's missing as society moves away from organized religion, and then suggested we bring those things back.

There isn't a lot of depth to the book, but it also doesn't feel actionable enough to group in with the usual self-help stuff. It's a weird read with some interesting info and some interesting insights but without really feeling like there's a solid foundation to any of it.
