I've had this book on my shelves for the past two years and started reading it when I had a vampire romance itch. I’m so glad I did! It made the book out of this world!
I love the strength of Isolde in being a woman. It doesn’t make her the damsel in distress or the princess that lets things just happen. Though there is some point where that strength could have been a little stronger.
The first meeting of the two had me fanning myself. The beginning is a strong one; the first few chapters are a beautiful hit to the rest of the book.
Now the smut. Good god, it kept you fed just enough and with beautiful conflict in the middle between. Enough to make you want to throw someone out a window, but thankfully she was dealt with, so I’m happy.
Now for the ending, it wasn’t my favorite; it was way too fast. It felt like it was wrapped up really quickly compared to how balanced the conflict was played out early in the book. Could have been way better if it wasn’t so wrapped up. And would have made it a satisfying close on the book.
Though even with that, I had way more fun and enjoyment reading this book, making it one of my favorites. Now reading the second book. Can’t wait for the third to come out!!
