Sisters by Raina Telgemeier

3.0

As I continue my Telgemeier reading along with my daughter, this was another fun read, although I had enjoyed Guts more than this one overall. When I read most of it, the lighting was so dim and my eyesight is perhaps so poor that I didn’t know that there was a difference in page color for the flashbacks. I kept thinking to myself that they made sense to me but could be confusing to students. When I picked it up to finish with better lighting, the yellow pages for the past was awesome to discover! I must say that it was not the depiction of sisterhood that I expected but I also appreciate that it’s not such a storybook version since it is probably more realistic and relatable for siblings who perhaps never get along perfectly.
