I was almost expecting the mysterious lake stuff to be a larger part of the plot, but in the end it felt almost secondary to this lovely, quiet story of two neurodivergent, nonbinary teens finding each other and opening up to each other. A very moody, atmospheric book, but not in a heavy way.
