Gentlemen of the Road by Michael Chabon

5.0

Artfully written, Chabon's Gentlemen of the Road reminded me of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Colorful, believable and likeable, the protagonists experienced a not-too-predictable adventure through the Caucasus Mountains, 950 AD. The two main characters are con-men with big hearts, and, more often than not, they do the right thing toward a noble end. This is a great story I won't soon forget. I would love to see a movie version of Gentlemen of the Road!
