This was on course to be the second 5 star read of the year and honestly, it lost that 5 star rating in the last couple of chapters. The plot twists were vert unexpected in my opinion, I couldnt have ever guessed that
pat was the one who took rachel all of those years ago????
looking back, there have been plenty of hints but i just didnt catch them. the last couple of chapters were very drawn out in my opinion, AND the actions of majority of the characters wasnt that believable like cmon,
sherry raised carter as her own for 16 years, even considering the circumstances,  it was not fair for carter to say to her something along the lines of "no you didnt raise me, bel did" BEL WAS BARELY 3 WHEN CARTER WAS BORN!!!! there is a difference between raising and growing up together. And the loyalties of the characters was pretty messed up. like carter would give up the one she thought was her mum ever since she saw the world and IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE she switched sides. also how unbelievable and weird it is for 3 members of the same family to just disappear off the face of earth and the police to not be alarmed. i dont know the ending was weird and abrupt in a way it did not match the level of writing and thought that was in the rest of the book
After this book dropped from 5 stars, I was going to give it a 4.75 if it wasnt for
Ash maddox. ASH. MADDOX. DESERVED. BETTER. saying it louder for everyonein the back. he didnt deserve that let off from bel, she was horrible.  he deserved so much better
In addition to that, what made it drop further was the very
flimsy and unconvincing motive of charlie price. like you wanted to kill her, made your father do it just because she wanted to leave you? because youre unstable in the head????

Anyways, overall a pretty good quick read and the mystery was hooking from page 1.
