I wasn’t sure what to expect when I commenced the journey of this book. Historical fiction in an alternative way. Overall I enjoyed it, although at times I did find it difficult to follow and felt that some of the jumps didn’t give me enough info to piece it together without having to really consider what was going on.
Overall I thought it was clever, and an imaginative retelling of a classical tale. Although I didn’t feel like there was a lot of narrative around the original story line, and probably would have benefited from this due to my own lack of knowledge.
I would read it again, and have started the second book - so, it’s hooked me enough to get me engaged!
