This is a solid thriller that kept me guessing until the end.

Lucy has tried to put her past behind her, leaving her marriage, family, and small town in Texas where she’s suspected of murdering her best friend Savvy. She can’t remember anything that happened that night but believes she wouldn’t have hurt someone she cared about so much, but no one in Plumpton believed her. Years later, a true crime podcast “Listen for the Lie” has an entire season revolving around Savvy’s murder - and Lucy. She’s back in her hometown and (scene of the crime) for her grandmother, but memories and theories keep coming up for Lucy. Then she meets Ben, the podcast host, who has some interesting insights.

This thriller was fast paced and fun to read. I love an unreliable narrator and the dual timelines propelled me forward. There were a few twists I didn’t see coming and I liked the small town “Desperate Housewives” vibe of it all. This was a bingeable vacation read (that I devoured in Sedona.) I look forward to reading more from Tintera!
