This book has destroyed me. It show slow to get into at first. But the main highlight of the first part is Rob and Cassie's friendship. I loved those two's interactions so much. So it broke my heart to watch it deteriorate throughout working on this case. At the end there's an author's note about authenticity of police procedures, how basically the book isn't 100% accurate. But the level of detail really makes you feel like it is. The same goes with how well-written the characters are. There's so much detail in this book it feels real. I found this through a recommendation of books similar to Donna Tartt's work and I couldn't agree more. If you like Tartt's work you'll like this book. I will definitely be reading more by Tana French.
