I read this book in a total of 3 hours. My high school was very similar to Vivian’s. Football players and cheerleaders even had their own administrator. I have witnessed firsthand the special treatment of athletes, and while my high school never had a feminist movement like Moxie, I wish it did. Moxie was beautiful and heartbreaking, yet it kept me chuckling the entire time.
I will say that I was apprehensive about the romance in this book, because going in I almost felt like something would be taken away from the story. After finishing the book, I feel the relationship was necessary due to the contrast of perspectives.
