Doll Bones by Holly Black
2.0

Perhaps it is how I read this book but for whatever reason I didn't enjoy this. I was more interested in the fairy story that the children had created than what this book was actually about.

Following the story of three kids, two girls and one boy they have an intricate world that they have created. Revolving around Poppy's mother's creepy bone china doll the stories they have created are very involved and have spanned years. One day the boy's father throws away all of his people for this game and he is devastated and doesn't want to play anymore. Poppy starts acting weird and demands that the three of them take the doll and bury it in a town that's like six hours away. They can't tell their parents so they go alone. Bus, boat, and foot the kids encounter weird happenings with the doll along the way.

The author was going for creepy but since I read this in small chunks over the course of a month I wasn't really feeling it. Again I didn't care about the actual story it didn't grab me and it wasn't fully explained.
