Melting the Ice by Jaci Burton

The Play-by-Play series is a hit or miss series for me. The first couple books I loved, the next couple were ok, and then the books in between were a mix of hits and misses.

Melting the Ice is an absolute hit! Couldn't put it down.

Carolina is an up incoming fashion designer. Drew is her brother's best friend and a hockey player. They had a one night stand back in college, one that Carolina didn't want to be a one night stand but Drew left in the morning and moved on breaking Carolina's heart. Now, thanks to Gray (Carolina's brother), Drew is a model in her upcoming show.

Right from the beginning I loved the dynamic between Carolina and Drew. She's reluctant to let him in and he wants to help her with her show and make some amends for how he treated her years ago.

The heat passing between them is hot and steamy and I couldn't get enough. Even though they kind of fell into a sex only relationship there was still caring there that could turn into more.

My only issue was
Spoilerwhen Drew pulled away from Carolina and used the excuse that he was too focused on her and that's why he and his team were losing the away games. It just kind of came up out of the blue and seemed to only be there so they'd have an issue to pull them apart for a bit.

Loved this installment to the series and I cannot wait for Haven and Trevor's book.
