Tacky: Love Letters to the Worst Culture We Have to Offer by Rax King

5.0

A truly beautiful book of personal essays rallying against our generation’s dependence on irony, snobbery & just judgement. Rax does such a great job weaving between the culture she loves & the people around her that see it as tacky. What I love most about it is how well Rax is able to open up about her life (Trauma, insecurities, delusions) and explain what she got out of these things. Although not everything were things I liked too, it was warming to read somebody find solace from their loneliness/emptiness/inadequacy through art.
