Flawless by Heather Graham

3.0

On the one hand, I liked the family story very much, though the lead character's name threw me (Kieran/CiarĂ¡n is the male form of a Gaelic name). The Finnegan relationships were wonderfully done, and people with a large, close family may find their interactions very familiar. The mystery side - the diamond robberies - had some jaw-dropping moments and some great suspense, but then the romance felt a little awkward. There was one scene that involved abrupt yelling which just didn't quite fit with the characters, and very little concern for the ethics or a potentially compromised investigation.

What finally clinched my 3-star rating was the end; it seemed to come out of nowhere, and just didn't convince me of its authenticity. But it was a fun read, and I liked the characters.
