A Court of Fire and Metal by Meg Xuemei X

5.0

A Court of Fire and Metal, book 2 in the War of the Gods series, is even better than the first! This series is definitely one of my new favorites as Cass's story just gets more complex and exciting with every new page I read.

Cass is really growing into herself. She is no longer the girl locked in a cage by her abusive mother but a woman surrounded by four overprotective men who want her to save the world. She goes to the academy to learn how to use her powers at the place where everyone who wants to fight against the gods is learning and training. The academy is home to supernaturals and humans alike and Cass gets a chance to make a friend, as well as some new enemies. But someone at the academy is not who they say they are, which might just be disastrous for Cass.

Cass and the guys really get to know each other better in this book. From the beginning, their fated bond has drawn them together, but this book shows them getting closer emotionally and really growing their relationship past the physical.... but there is definitely still lots of steam.

This book ends in a tough place for Cass. This is quite the cliffhanger and if I wasn't so in love with this story I'd probably be upset lol. Seriously desperate for book 3 now, I can't wait!
