I never thought I'd be this invested in a story about fame but I couldn't put the book down. Evelyn Hugo is an icon and her story is one of the most captivating ones I've read all year. It's not a literary masterpiece but it's the kind of book that understandably gets hyped in social media. The book definitely needed some content warnings and I felt like there was little reflection on many questionable things that happened for her fame, but it was a magnificent story and I can't wait to see the film.
