I've died and gone to falling-in-love-with-a-girl-trapped-on-a-subway heaven ๐Ÿ’˜

This book was simply adorable. It pulled at all my heartstrings and was perfectly ooey-gooey. But best of all, it was more than that...

I love me a good chosen / found family trope. And One Last Stop freaking DELIVERED. Aside from the romance (I'm getting there, I'm getting there!), this story was all about August, a girl from Louisiana who keeps trying to find herself, over and over again, from city to city. Finally, she finds family and acceptance and a place to buy permanent furniture, all in a little apartment over a Popeyes.

The gang in this story was loveable, and hilarious, and kept on my toes. I went from laughing hysterically to wanting to cry every time I turned the page. These characters were everything.

And of course, I love-love-loved the romance here. Like in Casey McQuiston's debut novel, there was main character bi representation (in August's character) which was fab.

Admittedly, I wasn't sure how a relationship would play out if one side was physically stuck in a train but Casey proved me wrong and delivered a great, swoon-worthy romance - but don't they always?

So here we sit, with Casey McQuiston's sophomore novel receiving a nearly perfect score for me. And no one is surprised lol
