This book shows how quickly, and dangerously, women can lose their rights, and how that risk is never entirely in the past. It's a fight we constantly need to have, even today.
Beautifully and tragically written, this raw story moved me to tears more than once. Its pessimism is not gratuitous, it's a necessary wake-up call. Atwood paints a chilling reality where hope flickers quietly, hidden beneath obedience and silence.
A must-read, especially for women. I wish more people would see the harm organized religion continues to cause. This is not just fiction, it's a mirror we can’t afford to ignore.
