Suicide Club by Rachel Heng

When I found it on Netgalley months ago, long before it was released, the synopsis sounded as if it would be something that I would enjoy. It’s kind of dystopian but not really, and the concept is there… but the pacing is just super slow, and there’s not much world-building that I can see. The main character whose name I can’t even remember is boring, and the two points-of-view are confusing for a good chunk of their chapters because there’s no indication that you’ve switched characters until you see the names maybe halfway through said chapter.
The cover is absolutely gorgeous, though, and while this book turned out to not be for me, I do genuinely hope that other readers out there will enjoy what I couldn’t.
Thank you to Netgalley for granting me the opportunity to read even just a smidgen of the advanced copy, even if I didn't enjoy it in the end.
