Letter to George Clooney by Debra Adelaide

2.0

This is the first real miss of the Stella longlist for me - I found nearly all of the stories flat and unengaging, with nearly interchangeable characters and premises. Except for the last, an intense story framed as a letter from a resettled refugee woman. It's easily the most memorable piece, but it sat a bit uneasily with me, feeling like the author had appropriated somebody else's story for emotional impact.
