4.5 Stars...This one is hard to explain. There were parts I loved, parts I hated and parts that just didn’t make sense. And it will be hard to explain that review without spoilers.
There is growth and change in Ty and Zane’s relationship. The real relationship story in this book though is that of Ty and Nick. There are lots of secrets revealed, lots of angst, plus a wedding on an island where people keep dying. The suspense/mystery part of the story reads like a more violent Agatha Christie book. But the conclusion really makes little sense, particularly the final death. It is all quite contrived and quite unrealistic. Disappointing. It really appears to only serve a purpose to lead into what at this point is the final book in the series.
We get more on Nick and Kelly’s relationship which is a clear lead in to the next series, the Sidewinder series. And an old frenemy makes an appearance as well which also appears to be a segue to the Sidewinder series.
Ty is really a huge jerk in this book and I spent much of the book disgusted or angry with him. I’ve never really disliked him as a character though he is quite unlikeable but I didn’t care for him at all in this book.
I’ll be interested to see what book nine brings.
