The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes
2.0

I really enjoyed Sophie's part of the story, but oh my god it was so difficult to get through Liv's part / the trial. I get where she was coming from, but honestly selling the painting is such a simple solution given her financial state. She even says at the end the material things (i.e. the painting) don't matter when it comes down to it!!! I don't know, I just thought it was a little boring and repetitive. I wish I could read more about Sophie!
It was also a little annoying how it completely flipped from Sophie to Liv. I understand that's part of the plot, but it was kind of hard to get used to a completely different writing style and setting within a few pages. Also, I feel like there were so many parts missing in Liv's story (it seemed like she got over David/the painting thing in a few days??).
Bottom line: LOVED Sophie's part, Liv bored/annoyed me (sorry), and I feel like there was a lack of plot (I guess the trial + Liv and Paul's relationship didn't cut it for me).
I don't regret reading the book, I just wasn't a huge fan. 2.5 stars probably
