Information Doesn't Want to Be Free: Laws for the Internet Age by Cory Doctorow

4.0

This book was pretty good, even though it's a little dated because it came out nine years ago. I really wish I'd read it when it was published. We're pretty deep into DRM/war on general purpose computing at this point and he called it.

This isn't related to the content, but I listened to the audiobook and I found the Amanda Palmer piano transitions really annoying because they're really frequent and with her classic dissonant style. Just...why? I don't want to say don't read the audiobook but be prepared for that because it's unpleasant. It also feels strange to listen to a non-fiction book narrated by Wil Wheaton that wasn't written by Wil Wheaton because every time he said "I" I forgot the "I" was Cory Doctorow for a split second.
