The Lost Daughter by Lucretia Grindle

3.0

Grindle writes good crime stories, usually with interesting characters and great settings. This one, set in Florence, Rome and Ferrara, didn't live up to expectations at all. I've been to all three cities but none was as vividly described as Florence in Grindles excellent The Faces of Angels. The backstory about Angela and Antonio didn't engage me at all, and I really didn't care what happened to the abducted student or her secretive stepmother. And haven't the Red Brigades been used in fiction enough already?
