Extinction by Douglas Preston

This is a crazy book. Part Jurassic Park, part CSI, with gore and terror and science gone wrong.

I enjoyed the police investigation part of this book and the crazy plot twists (even if I called the main gotcha near the end). The last 80% of this book is jam packed with action and it never let up until the very end.

I will say I wasn’t a huge fan of how the author wrote his FMC (she is a competent police investigator who is constantly thinking about her diet/appearance?!). I’ll just chalk this up to men writing women poorly. The ending was a bit weak too, considering how much action led up to it. But this was an entertaining audiobook. The narrator also did an outstanding job, and really brought all the characters to life.
