I almost loved this book; it was such an interesting premise + characters + world. This dystopian world is so believable and I was impressed with how easily I liked both main characters. But I was not impressed with how young they were. We don’t find out what their ages are until a little later in the book, and when we do I sort of scoffed at the fact that these kids (15 years old) had already done so much and were basically about to save the world the way most protagonists of dystopian books tend to do.
I sort of just pretended they were older, maybe 18 or 19, in order to continue my enjoyment. Seems silly but it worked, and I was so intrigued with the story and setting that I immediately picked up the second book to read.
