4.5 stars I have so much more to say but I definitely need to collect my thoughts beforehand
I understand why some people don't enjoy this book, it's completely character driven and reliant on your deep connection to Vanni's struggle, so people who love action packed plots might want to stear clear. But Podos makes Vanni a wonderful character to connect with, as we all at some point feel stuck in our lives and are acting out of routine rather than towards our best interests and goals. Vanni and Leigh's complex relationship with each other and themselves propels the story forward as they each take steps forward and back in adjusting their lives to their current circumstances.
