I finished this in two sittings. The first, I was late making dinner. The second, I was so engrossed late at night that I had to leave bed to comfortably finish it in my reading chair. I terrified my husband half to death coming back (ironic, giving this book begins with a home invasion), and while I’m writing this, my head literally hurts from screaming “it’s me!” to my panicked husband. 🤗
This one was gripping and twisty. There were so many characters and plot points I was constantly wondering how they’d all connect. They did, and I was surprised, but I also think this was to a defect. I wish I connected with the characters more and with this much going on, I think they could’ve benefited from some additional pages and room to breathe. All in all a very tight thriller, and I’ll definitely continue my way down his list of novels.
