Homo Deus: A History of Tomorrow by Yuval Noah Harari
5.0
I enjoyed the author's previous book, "Sapiens" but was a bit reluctant to read this. After all, what can the author say about the future except speculate what the future holds for humanity.
Was I wrong. The author looks through the past and present, going through the evolution (and revolution) in human thinking that defined periods of our history.
The author provides a possible future for humanity and defines a new ism - dataism. I won't go into too much detail as the author explains it very well. It looks like the future will be the age of algorithms. Questions for us will be, "how do we navigate such a future?" "How will humanity look like in a world with open communication and information is freely available."
I recommend both Sapiens and Homo Deus for people interested in humanity - where we came from and where we're possibly headed.
