At first it was bit difficult to read, simply because it was very different to other danmei I've read. But it didn't take me long to be absolutely hooked into the story. The development of Fu Shen and Yan Xiaohan's relationship is so beautiful. With how it shows that even though most people assume that they're enemies, they do care for each other.
The backstory on how they met was very funny to me. As it was completely by accident. Followed by their honestly slightly traumatic boar experience the next time they meet. For Yan Xiaohan to immediately falter when younger Fu Shen calls him 'gege'. Truly being the start of their relationship.
(Holy shit the family tree is messy though)
I thoroughly enjoyed this volume. I'm excited to start the next and final volume next.
