The novel is a detective novel but not entirely. It is more realistic than usual especially because of the ending. If what the ending says is true, I was taken for a ride along with a flawed narrator who usually let his emotions cloud his narration. Apart from he narrator and me, everyone seemed  to know what was going on.
The discussions between characters was interesting and especially the interpretation of the dead men being dead and landing a hand to the living. Whether it talks about the dead and the injured or about the victim and a murderer is interesting.
