The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne

Did not finish book. Stopped at 36%.
Good God, this book is tedious. There is zero conflict in the plot or between any of the characters, which makes for a very boring read and it makes me not care about anything. How can all of them co-exist without there ever being a disagreement or a fight of any kind, they all just get along so well, it's perfect, so nice. What's also perfect is that they just happened to land on the one island on planet earth that can provide them with everything they could possibly need to survive, except for a way home, of course (cause that would be unrealistic, right?). And naturally one of the characters knows how to do everything and make everything needed to keep everyone alive, cause he is an engineer, which basically means he knows everything about not just technology, but also geography, geology, biology, chemistry, physics, topography, what's edible, what's poisonous and probably some other things I'm forgetting. He has an answer for everything. Just. Ridiculous. Why write about a bunch of characters stuck on a desert island, if literally everything is gonna be so goddamn easy?? It's almost like they're doing an extreme campout in the woods just outside their home, they have it so easy. No conflict, no stakes, me not care.
