Ancillary Mercy by Ann Leckie
4.25
adventurous emotional medium-paced
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes

A very immediate continuation of book two.

Includes a renewed focus on Breq and
Seivarden
's relationship, which was somewhat absent from the previous installment. Breq finally thinks a little more critically about what it means to
captain a ship
, knowing what she knows. Following Breq's actual emotions required a bit of triangulation between Breq's actions, the responses of Breq's companions, and what Breq doesn't say (which I enjoyed, but did require some puzzling!).

While Breq's journey is resolved by the end of the book, the larger arc of the Radch is still in question. Also, based on her final line, I still want to know if
Translator Zeiat is? is part of? shares memories with? Dlique
