bangarang 's review for:
House of M
by Brian Michael Bendis
Read it in one sitting. Could not put it down. Bendis never disappoints. In this story, Scarlett Witch has a breakdown and alters reality to give all the heroes their ideal life. It throws around some great what-ifs: what if Gwen Stacy never died? What if Magneto ruled the world? What if Scott and Emma got married? What if Logan actually remembered his entire life?
There's a lot of the heroes sitting around together, discussing the different courses of action and what exactly is the right thing to do in this kind of situation, which I really loved. It's kind of a turn on for my inner comic book geek when that happens. Other than that, Peter Parker's anguish was palpable and I was right there with him. Hawkeye's anger was also spot on, beautifully drawn and written.
It's awesome and kind of sad and definitely haunting, and it has the type of cliffhanger ending that both thrills and annoys me. I wish Thor, Black Widow and Hulk were included, but other than that, I got no complaints.
